Jared Smyth


Jared Smyth is the Vice President of Church Engagement for Communio, a nonprofit that equips the Church to evangelize through the renewal of healthy relationships, marriage, and the family. Prior to joining Communio, he spent 14 years working for the collegiate outreach program FOCUS (the Fellowship of Catholic University Students). While there, Jared managed hundreds of staff across 50 universities in 27 states and led the Marketing Department through what was, at the time, the largest conference in FOCUS’ history—17,000 attendees.
Jared has spoken nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, including science and faith, evangelization, the modern worldview, and practical family apostolate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Colorado State University and graduated summa cum laude from the Augustine Institute with a master’s degree in theology. Jared spent his childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado, with his wife, Mallory, and their five children: Penny, Eliza, Clara, Mabel, and David.
