Dr. Dave Rahner
Dr. Rahner is a family physician and has been married to University of Cincinnati Medical School classmate Patricia (Tricia) Powers for 37 years. They have been blessed with 8 children and 3 grandchildren. Dave and Tricia’s medical work has focused on caring for the indigent and underserved. During medical school, they both did short term medical mission work in Asia. After their residency in Syracuse, NY, they moved to inner-city Cincinnati where they lived for 10 years and worked for Crossroad Health Center, a Christian ministry providing healthcare for the poor. For the last 10 years, Dave has been working for the VA medical center, where he started an outreach program to provide healthcare for homeless veterans.
Although raised Catholic, Dave spent many years as an evangelical and “cafeteria” Catholic. Dave fully returned to the Catholic faith due to the influence of Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. He loves to share his faith with others and hopes CMA can be an encouragement for all Catholic healthcare professionals to fully integrate their faith with their profession.
