Tony Maas
Tony Maas is President and CEO of J.T.M. Food Service, and Founder of Ruah Woods Institute, an apostolate focused on forming teachers, students, and parents in the teaching of The Theology of the Body. He's the 2021 recipient of the Carl H. Lindner Award for Entrepreneurship and Civic Duty.
Tony has spent his entire life in a family owned and operated business. Beginning in the 1960’s as Maas Brothers Meats, in the 1970’s becoming Jack Maas Meats with 2 locations specializing in specialty meats and meals along with catering and in 1980 the Maas family formed J.T.M. Food Group. J.T.M. stands for the initials of their father John Thomas Maas and also the four sons: Jack Jr, Joe, Jerry, and Tony Maas and daughter, Mary Lou, graduates of Elder and Seton High School.
J.T.M. distributes products to schools, military installations, restaurants, and stores around the country, to our troops abroad.
Tony was appointed President and CEO of J.T.M. in 1988. Starting at the age of 27, Tony along with his brothers, has led the J.T.M. family business to a sales growth from $8,000,000 in 1988 to sales of $425,000,000 in 2026. J.T.M. Produced 185,000,000 pounds of our Core Kettle Products in 2024 such as Queso dip, beer cheese base, macaroni and cheese, and taco meat. In 2016, Tony led an ambitious expansion opening a new manufacturing plant with 2 production lines with the capacity of producing 165,000,000# of kettle cooked products and a state-of-the-art distribution center with 20,000 pallet capacity that operates with 4 robotic cranes. JTM has recently expanded again with the addition of 2 more production lines opened in May of 2025 that brings the JTM capacity to 250,000,000#. J.T.M. celebrated its 40 Year Anniversary in 2020 and now employs 750 team members. The new manufacturing plant sets JTM up for the next 40 years.
Tony and his wife Barb have been married for 45 years. They have 5 children and 12 grandchildren.
Tony and his family believe that their Catholic values which were received from their grandparents and parents, and their Catholic education are the core values in which they are
operating their business and their personal lives today. JTM is proud to acknowledge their Catholic Faith and God in their workplace and abroad and it officially tithes the company profits to ministries that uphold these values.
