Maria Morera Johnson

Maria Morera Johnson is a native of Cuba who emigrated to the United States as a child. She retired from her work as a professor of composition and literature in 2016, but remains a popular speaker, writer, and retreat leader, as well as the media editor at Catholicmom.com. Her books include “Super Girls and Halos,” “Our Lady of Charity: How a Cuban Devotion Helped Me Grow in Faith and Love,” and  “A Beautiful Second Act: Saints and Soul Sisters Who Taught Me to Age with Grace” (2025, Ave Maria Press).
