Lela Gilbert, Senior Fellow for International Religious Freedom at The Family Research Council and a Fellow at Hudson Institute Center for Religious Freedom, is an award-winning writer who has authored or co-authored more than sixty books.
She lived in Israel for more than 10 years, and her critically acclaimed "Saturday People, Sunday People: Israel through the Eyes of a Christian Sojourner" (Encounter Books, 2012) was listed as one of the 20 best non-fiction Jewish books of 2012 by J.G. Myers in Jewish Ideas Daily. Recent books include "Baroness Cox, Eyewitness to a Broken World" and "Heroic Faith: Hope Amid Global Persecution."
Lela Gilbert has traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia and her work on international religious freedom issues dates to the late 1980s. She writes about ever-increasing international Christian persecution; the expulsion of Jews from Muslim lands in the mid-20th century, and today’s genocide against Christians in those same countries and well beyond.
She also writes for Newsweek, Jerusalem Post, Fox News, Religion Unplugged, Providence Magazine and a variety of other publications, and is active on Facebook, Twitter, and Linked-In.
