Fr. Steve Angi

Fr. Steve Angi is the Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and pastor of the St. Gregory the Great Family of parishes, as well as a licensed counselor and a chaplain for the Cincinnati Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department..

He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 1985. He served as a pastor, parochial vicar, and hospital chaplain in Hamilton and Kettering before a year’s move to New Orleans to complete a counseling residency internship at Covenant House while serving as an Associate Chaplain with the New Orleans Police Department.

After returning to Cincinnati he joined the Seton High School faculty as director of campus ministry and, after finishing his MS degree in mental health counseling from Wright State University, as a guidance counselor. He spent 2000-2002 as a missionary in Wuhan, China for two years. Because in China priests may not operate publicly, he  taught psychology and English at the South Central University for Ethnic Communities and worked for the local church.

After returning to Cincinnati he served as pastor of Holy Family Parish in East Price Hill until 2008, also servig as a volunteer Hamilton County Probation Officer to help rehabilitate past offenders and as a Chaplain for the Hamilton County Justice Center and the Cincinnati Police Department. He joined the Archdiocesan Tribunal as Adjutant Judicial Vicar after completing a degree in canon law studies from The Catholic University of America in 2009, and was subsequently appointed Chancellor of the Archdiocese in 2011 and Vicar General in 2012.
