Little Mach Girl Passion, Featuring Ensemble Con Fuoco

Conducted by David Castillo Gocher and Krista Cornish Scott, The Little Match Girl Passion reimagines Hans Christian Andersen’s tale through the lens of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. With spare textures and emotional intensity, it offers a searing meditation on suffering, compassion, and hope. First performed in 2007, this composition by David Lang was commissioned  Carnegie Hall Corporation and The Perth Theater and Concert Hall for Paul Hillier and Theatre of Voices.
