St. Peregrine is the patron saint of those suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. He was a member of the Servite Order and is known for his unwavering faith and miraculous healing of his own cancer.

This Mass is offered especially for all that have been afflicted, as well as their caregivers, family, and friends. Anyone who wishes will have an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during this Mass. We will also provide a St. Peregrine holy card, a small bottle of holy water and a prayer blanket.

In addition to the Mass, we have a Novena to St. Peregrine on our website, taking place over the nine days leading up to the Mass. This is an opportunity for us to pray as a community, on behalf of those in need of our spiritual support.

Following the Mass, a reception will be held in the foyer. This Mass is open to all. No reservations are necessary.

An ideal priest, St. Peregrine had a reputation for fervent preaching and being a good confessor. When he was afflicted with cancer of the foot and amputation had been decided upon, he spent the night before the operation in prayer. The following morning, he was completely cured.

This miracle caused his reputation to become widespread. He died in 1345 at the age of eighty-five, and he was canonized by Pope Benedict XIII in 1726. Once given the grace of conversion, he became one of the great saints of his time. His great fervor and qualities as a confessor brought many back to the true Faith. Afflicted with cancer, Peregrine turned to God, and was richly rewarded for his Faith, enabling him over many years to lead others to the truth. (from “Catholic Online”)
