Good Shepherd
8815 East Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249

St. Dymphna is a powerful intercessor for those who are struggling with mental health challenges. She is the patron saint of those suffering anxiety, stress, and depression, as well as the patron saint of mental health caregivers and professionals. St. Dymphna is known for her bravery and devotion to God and inspires us to be resilient against the challenges of the world with the knowledge that God will never forsake us. We remember that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to redeem us. We believe that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, always walks with us; He will never abandon us.

Everyone is welcome to attend this Mass. We will pray for those encountering challenges to their mind and spirit, and we will pray for their loved ones. Anyone wishing, will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during this Mass. As the Church teaches, “Through the Sacrament of the Anointing, Christ strengthens the faithful who are afflicted by illness, providing them with the strongest means of support.” (From paragraph 5 of Pastoral Care of the Sick.)

Attendees will also receive the following:

  • a St. Dymphna holy card,
  • a small bottle of holy water, and
  • a small pocket cross.
  • Prayer blankets will be available.

Representatives from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Catholic Charities, and the St. Gregory the Great Family of Parishes will be present before and after Mass to offer support, resources, and answer questions.  A cookie reception will follow the service.

No reservations are needed, and friends from other parishes are certainly welcome.
