Tying together pieces from St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Thrift Stores with high-fashion trends, University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) students transform items they find in the stores into runway fashion. All proceeds from this one-of-a-kind fashion fundraising event support St. Vincent de Paul’s programs that provide food, medicine, rent and utility assistance, clothing, and furniture to neighbors across Greater Cincinnati.
This year marks 20 years of bold, transformative fashion for a cause. Guests will enjoy boutique shopping, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, raffles, and the signature fashion show—all in the historic setting of Cincinnati Music Hall.
Schedule:

Shopping at your neighborhood St. Vincent de Paul thrift store not only helps to keep clothing and other goods out of landfills, but each purchase also generates support for St. Vincent de Paul’s outreach and assistance programs, providing aid, relief and hope to neighbors in our community.
- RetroFittings is a fashion show and fundraising event featuring the designs of students from UC’s top-ranked DAAP fashion program. Students from DAAP shop with a limited budget of $25 at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores, then transform items they find in the stores into runway fashion.
- The event showcases the students’ ingenuity and creativity and celebrates sustainable fashion.
- RetroFittings also features an exclusive boutique with high-end items from SVDP thrift stores, as well as a silent auction and raffles.
- All proceeds from the event support the many programs of St. Vincent de Paul, helping our neighbors in need.
