Musica Sacra, founded in 1965, is one of only three public-performing choirs in the Cincinnati area to achieve such longevity. The other two are the May Festival Chorus and the Cincinnati Boy Choir, which also was founded in 1965. Musica Sacra is the only chorus whose mission is to perform sacred choral masterworks in the spaces for which they were intended, with a professional orchestra, at no charge to the public.
Music Director Dr. L. Brett Scott, now in his 10th year with the choir, is expanding the choir’s mission to include performing works by lesser-known and previously overlooked composers, including women.
