Artificial Intelligence, the Human Person, and Education
- What is AI and what is human intelligence? (And what are we?)
- How does contemporary AI work?
- What is education in relation to the human person and human intelligence?
- How does AI (especially ChatGPT) potentially impact education and how do we direct this impact for the good of our students?
- What are the challenges and opportunities that present themselves in today’s age of AI?
About the Speaker: Jordan Wales is the John and Helen Kuczmarski Professor of Theology at Hillsdale College, where he teaches historical theology, philosophy of mind, and artificial intelligence. Most recently, he collaborated on the book Encountering Artificial Intelligence: Ethical and Anthropological Investigations(Pickwick Press, 2024), reflecting philosophically and theologically on the present and future nature, implications, and impacts of artificial intelligence on human beings, society, and the world.
