A public lecture on astronomy followed by observations at the Thomas More Observatory (weather permitting).
Talk Title: “Beneath the Ice: Europa and the Search for Life”
Speaker: Dr. Wes Ryle, Astronomer at the Cincinnati Observatory
Description: Jupiter is shining in the evening sky this season, but the real excitement lies with its moons. This talk explores Jupiter as a miniature Solar System, with a special focus on Europa, an icy moon that may hide a global ocean beneath its surface. We’ll look at what we know so far and how NASA’s Europa Clipper mission will help answer one of astronomy’s biggest questions: could life exist beyond Earth?
