Observatory Director Austin Hinkel, Ph.D., will deliver the talk entitled: “Temperatures in the Universe.” This summer has been pretty darn hot. But how do those temperatures compare to the extremes found across the universe — from the cold voids of space to the blazing hearts of stars? And how can we even begin to take the temperature of things that are billions of light-years away? Explore the surprising ways astronomers measure cosmic temperatures and what it tells us about the history of the universe itself. This event is free and open to the public; no RSVP required.
