A Saint For Our Time: A Concert Celebrating Carlo Acutis

Be sure to join us at. St. Catharine of Siena on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., to welcome harpsichordist Dr. Micaela Schmitz, Director of Music at St. Gabriel Church, for a solo program, “A Saint for Our Time: A Concert Celebrating Carlo Acutis.” This event marks what Dr. Schmitz describes as a “musical baptism” of her newly built pentagonal virginals, an early member of the harpsichord family. The program features music of the Renaissance and early Baroque, works by composers such as William Byrd, Antonio de Cabezón, Girolamo Frescobaldi, and Johann Jakob Froberger, linked thematically to Carlo’s devotion to the Eucharist, to Mary, and to God. Interwoven with brief reflections on the saint and the music, the program may be experienced either as a concert or as a meditation. It will last just under one hour. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
