God our Father, hear the prayers of your people and fill us with your merciful love and kindness. Bless our country during this time of sickness and civil unrest. Help us to care for those who suffer from sickness and disease. Bless our elected officials. Give them courage and right judgement to protect those who are innocent and bring to judgement those who seek to destroy our cities by acts of violence and aggression.
May the power of the Holy Spirit direct our priests and bishops to an active care for the flocks entrusted to them and help them to be ministers of your Word and Sacraments, especially the Sacrament to Penance and the Holy Eucharist. May their priestly witness of faith inspire in young people an abiding love of Jesus your Son.
Protect our families from the evils that surround us in the world. Through the intercession of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, help those in need to find gainful employment. May all families grow in knowledge and love of you and each other and may their homes be a place where you are welcomed and adored. We humbly ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
