Cincinnati’s Bockfest Weekend begins with this annual irreverent parade, led by a pretend Franciscan monks pulling a keg of Christian Moerlein Bock Bier and a giant “Trojan Goat” on wheels. Old St. Mary’s Church, a Catholic parish since the 1820s, will hold a fish fry along the route (weather permitting) and when the parade reaches the church its pastor, Fr. John-Paul Bevak, will bless the keg to begin the three-day celebration of beer and Cincinnati’s German heritage throughout the region.
