What do over 400,000 radio listeners
in greater Cincinnati have in common?
They are members of the Catholic Church.
Although there are a number of talk stations on the dial, only 740 Sacred Heart Radio has talk programs that reflect the views and teaching of the Catholic Church. Add that to the relatively long periods of time SHR’s listeners spend with us daily, no rating service would dare publish the audience share.
How do we measure SHR’s audience?
Let’s start with a database of over 4700 names. None of these names were bought from a list; SHR’s listeners have made themselves know to us.
Secondly, in a recent on-line listener survey, one- third of those responding told us they were not in our database, but did listen daily.
Finally, based on the number of Catholics in the area, coupled with the mailing list and survey results, it’s not a stretch to estimate that SHR has potentially tens of thousand of listeners tuned to 740 AM (and sacredheartradio.com) throughout the day. In fact based on listener input, the time spent listening (TSL) to SHR is from one to six hours a day! Unlike listeners of Commercial Radio, they simply do not turn Sacred Heart Radio off.
For seven years SHR has been totally listener supported.
No other station in greater Cincinnati can make this claim. During this period of time hundreds of thousand of dollars have been raised by using one-minute hourly appeals only! Over the years, those funds were used to purchase the radio station (WNOP), build new studios, improve the daytime signal strength, fund billboard campaigns and pay the every day expenses. SHR’s listeners support this radio ministry and will in turn support those local businesses, companies and organizations that support SHR.

“A better way to start your day!”
In Sept 2007, SHR launched the Son Rise Morning Show to showcase everything Catholic at home, in the region, and the world. Response to the morning show was so great that in January 2008, the show was expanded to three hours daily from 6-9am.
Now your business, company or Catholic organization has the opportunity to reach tens of thousand of listeners weekly by underwriting the Son Rise Morning Show with Brian Patrick. For less than $1 per impression per year you may underwrite the premier Catholic morning show in the region.
With a minimal investment, your company will have a strong presence on one of the most talked about new morning show to premier on Cincinnati radio in decades!
That’s only the beginning!
DAILY BREAD with Fr. Al Lauer
FR. JOHN CORAPI
THE DOCTOR IS IN with Dr. Ray Guarendi.
OPEN LINE with Fr. Mitch Pacwa and more!
These are just a few of SHR popular programs that your sponsorship will be recognized help to bring to our listeners daily
Kresta in the Afternoon
Like the Son Rise Morning Show here is another premium opportunity to show your support for Sacred Heart Radio during afternoon drive. From 4-6pm weekdays, Al Kresta hosts this two hour live program where they talk about “the things that matter most” as viewed through the lens of the Catholic Church.
Up and down the dial in Cincinnati there is nothing on the air like Sacred Heart Radio.
